Sub-series consists primarily of correspondence between Anne Alpert and her family, friends, husbands and lovers (Roberto Matta, Isamu Noguchi, Hollis Alpert, and James Astor), and children Gordon Matta-Clark and John Sebastian Matta. In some instances, both the letters that she sent as well as the letters she received are preserved; in particular, both sides of the correspondence with Isamu Noguchi have been reunited and reassembled. The material dates from 1914 to 1997. Sub-series contains ring binders and textual records, including newspaper and magazine clippings and memorabilia.
