Résumé:
The church is the beating heart of Ruigoord. At the invitation of Ruigoord, Gijs Frieling painted the entire interior of the church, all the way up to the rafters. This eclectic mural depicts the ecosystem of Ruigoord—its history, sources of inspiration, and collaborations from around the world. Before he began, Frieling spoke with the artists, founders, and others involved in Ruigoord. The result tells the story of the artist village—then and now. We see the places, beings, journeys, happenings, erudite and magical figures, and the movements connected to Ruigoord such as Provo, the Kabouters, the Insect Sect, and activist actions. In short, everything that has contributed to the identity and survival of Ruigoord over the years. Kingdom Ruigoord is a tribute to Ruigoord and everyone involved: its unique culture, community, and passionate spirit.

Résumé:
At first glance, "Not a cookbook" appears to be just what its title implies – but beneath the surface lies a layered, collage-style portrait of a restaurant and the family that holds it together. Centered on Resto Palme, a Caribbean restaurant in Montreal run by married duo Lee-Anne Millaire Lafleur and Ralph Alerte, the book offers a deeply personal and provocative exploration of kitchen culture, where food becomes a lens through which to examine family, friendship, labor, and resistance. A longtime friend of the family, Reis takes an embedded, nonlinear approach to storytelling. Through photographs, texts, and contributions from customers and staff, Not a Cookbook captures not just the daily challenges of running a family business, but also the peripheral stories – of racism, activism, and the emotional labor required to build and protect something shared and sacred.

Résumé:
Dependent on the extractive practices of fossil-fueled industrial capitalism, chemical photography’s emulsions and films were highly sensitive to polluted atmospheres, and photographic companies had to work hard to control this sensitivity. Drawing on histories of empire, coal, and chemistry and from the archives of British photographic manufacturer Ilford Limited, Michelle Henning exposes the ways photography shaped how we see and understand the atmosphere while leaving its toxic residues in the air, soil, and water. Structured as thirty-six short chapters and with over seventy illustrations, this innovative book begins in interwar London, follows the supply of Ilford products to photographers on the West African coast, and considers photography as a military technology linked to the development of chemical warfare. Combining close readings of photographs with discussions of low-light, tropical, and aerial photography, Henning examines the extraction and development of photographic materials, their role in the current environmental crisis, and how they have shaped experiences of time and the environment.

"Alphabettes Soup: 2015–2025" celebrates a decade of feminist approaches to type research, design, and creative community-building. The book blends key articles from the Alphabettes platform with original essays, exploring intersections between culture, language, business practices, technology, and type. It also includes interviews with Alphabettes members, visual histories, and reflections on past and ongoing initiatives. More than an anthology, Alphabettes Soup is a dynamic collection of voices and stories. The book is conceived as a type specimen, showcasing over 100 typefaces designed by women and non-binary individuals. Aimed at challenging dominant narratives in type history and contemporary practice, Alphabettes Soup seeks to inspire future generations to create their own decentralized design communities.
