The Aldo Rossi fonds documents the professional practice of architect Aldo Rossi and that of his firm, Studio di Architettura (SDA). Drawings of nearly every project by Rossi and SDA are present, with significant Italian, German and Japanese projects particularly well represented. The fonds also includes material relating to exhibitions and some material on publications that feature the work of Rossi and his firm. Material in this fonds was produced between 1953 and 1997.

The sub-series documents the exhibition and the related publication "Olmsted: L'origine del parco urbano e del parco naturale contemporaneo" curated by Pettena. The exhibition was presented at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, in 1996. The exhibition, dedicated to American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, is the result of several years of Pettena's research on landscape architecture and how urban parks symbolized social changes in the second half of the 19th century. This sub-series contains research material such as notes by Pettena, information on Olmsted's landscape projects, publications on Olmsted, and leaflets and ephemera from other exhibitions or events on Olmsted. The research material also contains correspondence of Gianni Pettena with experts on Olmsted or with the Frederick Law Olmsted Association. Also included, are documents related to the planning and the production of the exhibition and the related publication, such as correspondence, exhibition programs, strategic program, summaries of the exhibition's themes, object lists, and budget and draft texts for the publication.

This project series documents the design and construction of the Hamilton Trade Centre and Arena in Hamilton, Ontario from 1982-1985. The office identified the project number as 8207. The project consisted of a 60,000 square foot exhibition hall and arena, which had a capacity of 18,000. Opening in November 1985, the building was designed to host sports events (primarily hockey) and concerts. The project was reported to have cost $42 million. Along with Parkin Partnership as the architecture firm, John C. Parkin’s engineering company Parkin Engineers Ltd. worked as structural engineers on the project. The building, commissioned by the city of Hamilton, was officially called Copps Coliseum after the former Hamilton mayor, Victor Copps, who pushed for its creation throughout his career. In 2014, the name was changed to FirstOntario Centre. The project is recorded through reprographic copies of construction drawings, research, construction and presentation photographs, and textual records dating from 1982-1987. The textual records show design research, client correspondence, contractor work, specifications, publicity, and financial records. Any original drawings for this project are arranged within the textual records.

The majority of the fonds documents the multidisciplinary symposium series Culture Lab. Material in the fonds also documents Boigon’s research into cartoon movement in cyberspace in the form of both the Cartoon Regulators and Spillville. The fonds also contains records pertaining to Boigon’s web design company, Roller Coaster Studios. The records in the fonds largely consist of research and planning material, photographs and AV recordings documenting the projects, and sketches by Boigon and others.
