"The Italian Interiors of Elsa Peretti" charts a voyage through two sumptuous homes of the late artist whose designs completely reshaped jewellery in the 20th century and are still worn by the world’s biggest stars today. Capturing the terracotta glow of these spaces, Estelle Hanania’s ethereal photography introduces us to the wilds of Torre Avoltore, a towering residence in Porto Ercole, and invites us to retire to stately Rome, where Elsa grew up. An introductory essay by longtime collaborator Stefano Palumbo centres Elsa’s creative relationship with architect and designer Lorenzo Mongiardino, and a brief dispatch from photographer Dominique Nabokov closes the book with a memory of her 2001 visit to the tower.

With a clear and consistent emphasis on craftsmanship and materiality, the Håndværk bookazine portrays the living and changing practice of design and craft through in-depth interviews and portraits painted in both words and images. Issue no. 7 features interviews with architects, designers and active craftspeople from fields such as blacksmithing, bricklaying, carpentry and thatching. They all have a keen focus on the high carbon footprint of the construction industry and of the need to find solutions. The reduction of CO2 emissions is also a key issue when the bookazine takes the reader behind the scenes of the development of wall tiles with a high content of crushed, used bricks. As usual, this issue of the bookazine also includes stories about textiles, glassware, food and drink.

Résumé:
Over the years, construction workers seem to have developed a mysterious script made with adhesive tape that is readable by only a few. What do these signs mean? Is this some sort of secret language? Or is there no meaning at all? Are things always as they seem? Visual artist and architect SerraGlia, fascinated by cities and by semiotics, decided to create an artistic and slightly ironic visual statement about these found signs. He is not seeking to reveal their absolute truth. Instead, he wants to question our perception of our surroundings.

Résumé:
''Tropical reading: photobook and self-publishing'' illustrates the photography practitioners and artist collectives from each city in Southeast Asia, examining why they chose to get into self-publishing. It explores how independent art bookstores came to be the social parlours of the self-publishing crowd. Furthermore, observes how the outsider artists, archives and arts initiatives of Southeast Asia came to shape the face of photography and self-publishing in their respective cities. The index is a compilation of our project field research, condensing the profiles of all the interviewees – from people to bookstores to organisations – to make a kind of alternative Yellow Pages for the Southeast Asian art scene.

We have come to enjoy plentiful lifestyles in the 21st century, yet we are also facing issues such as climate change, social inequality, epidemics, and the shifts in global dynamics brought on by these things. ‘'How is Life?'’ takes another look at the various facets of our everyday lives, reframing architecture as something that serves to make people’s lives better and exploring ways in which design can be employed to achieve prosperity not premised on growth. By introducing projects that offer possibilities which depart from traditional conceptions of architecture and the city, the book sparks a fresh awareness, inspiring you to explore new perspectives for living together with our Earth.
