Résumé:
The Mark Goulthorpe HypoSurface project records, 1990-2014, document the design development, technical implementation, exhibition, and marketing of various iterations of the HypoSurface wall. The wall has a “skin” divided up into pixel-like metallic facets manipulated by a network of actuating pistons in order to create images, texts and patterns in dynamic relief. Sensors allow people near the wall to influence its movement. The records include approximately 62,700 digital files, 3 folders of textual documents, and 44 prototype pieces, and a working HypoSurface wall module.

The Johan Bettum OCEAN North projects records, 1995-2000, consist of born-digital files and a physical drawing that document three projects by the OCEAN North collective: Synthetic Landscape (1995-2000), Jyväskylä Music and Arts Centre (competition, 1997), and Tölöö Football Stadium (competition, 1997). The archive also includes a small amount of additional born-digital reference materials on 11 projects from the collective, including the three projects mentioned above.

The Kivi Sotamaa OCEAN North project records, 1997-2000, consist of born-digital files, drawings, photographs, and physical models that document two projects by the OCEAN North collective: Jyväskylä Music and Arts Centre (competition, 1997) and Tölöö Football Stadium (competition, 1997). The archive also includes born-digital reference materials on 14 projects from the collective, including the two projects mentioned above.

Description:
Series consist of records associated with different projects devised by OCEAN and OCEAN North prior to 1999 and retained as reference material by Johan Bettum, who did not collaborate on every project. Records occasionally include some photographs, but for the most part are images from work done with CAD software. These include plans, diagrams, renderings and views (sections, perspectives) of buildings, landscapes, exhibition scenography, and exhibited items. The amount and type of materials varies largely between projects. Files were transferred to CCA on a CD and their timestamps suggests that materials were copied for reference purpose in the first few months of 1998. The CD cover bears the date of June 3rd 1999. Projects date from 1994 to 1998. Projects included in the reference files are: Barbican, London (OCEAN Helsinki): likely an exhibition design. Museum, Buenos Aires (OCEAN U.K., 1997): a building design for a competition. Finnish Embassy, Canberra (OCEAN Oslo & Helsinki, 1996): an international architectural competition entry. The Aldo Cibic Microrealities project collection primarily consists of presentation materials, publications and born digital materials, like videos and photographs, by Aldo Cibic produced between 2003 and 2008 for the project “Microrealities”.

The Amancio Williams fonds documents Williams' career as an architect and designer from the 1940s to the late 1980s. The fonds documents his work for over 80 architectural, urban planning and furniture design projects, as well as the administration of his architecture practice, and his professional activities through correspondence, photographic material, and promotional materials.

Résumé:
The RUR Architecture Kansai-kan of the National Diet Library project records, circa 1996, document the New York based firm’s competition entry for the Kansai Science City branch of Japan’s National Diet Library. Records show integration of landscape in the building’s design, exploration of the relationship between structure and surface, and a multimedia approach to building design. Records include 169 digital files, mostly CAD models and images; 42 drawings and printed renderings; and 5 models and casts.
