Scope and Content

The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) - New Campus Center Competition fonds contains 20 presentation panels and documents 4 of the 5 projects proposed by the competition finalists (Eisenman, Hadid, Jahn/Sobek et Sejima/Nishizawa). All of the panels measure 76 x 107 cm and are made of iconographic reproductions, sometimes accompanied by texts, glued on foam-core. The fonds also contains 8 models, which document 3 of the 5 proposed projects (Eisenman, Jahn/Sobek and Sejima/Nishizawa). The models are to scale and are made of various materials.

The panels and models of the fonds were presented at the College of Architecture of IIT in September 1997 at the time of a symposium whereby the finalists proposals were submitted to the public, and/or at the Art Institute of Chicago between 1 May to 25 July 1998 in an exhibition titled "A New Campus Center: The IIT Competition". These documents constitute the vestiges of these events.

A New Campus Center : The IIT Competition". Ces documents constituent en somme des vestiges matériels de ces événements.
