This project aspires at rewriting the history of Russian architecture and urban design at the light of its enduring Amerikanizm. The exhibition, which will be accompanied by a book, undertakes at a comprehensive analysis of the specific configurations of Americanisms that have characterized every moment in Soviet history, from 1776 to 1991, including but far from limited to the high-rise buildings of the late Stalinist era, factories and industrial infrastructure, as well as design during the Cold War.
