File consists of the diaries of Aditya Prakash from 1947-1955, excluding the year 1954. They cover his daily activities and life milestones including his schooling in London and Glasgow, his first jobs in architecture, the independence of India, the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, getting the job for the Chandigarh Capitol Team Project and the first few years of his work with Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Maxwell Fry and Jane Drew in Chandigarh.

This project series documents house no. 5755 in New Delhi, likely sometime in the 1980s or 1990s. Located on plot nos. 8 and 9, on block no. 5 of the Dev Nagar area, this project consisted of a two-storey duplex built for Sh. Brij Nandan Prakash and Sh. Ram Chander Dass, and for Smt. Savitri Devi and Sh. Major Shyam Lal. Each side of the duplex had a shop at the front on the ground level. The project is recorded through a drawing of floor plans, probably dating from sometime in the 1980s-1990s.

This project series documents a variety of Prakash's projects in India that are unidentifiable, most of which are likely dating from around the 1980s-1990s. Roughly 20-30 unidentified projects are included in this project series.

Description:
This project series documents buildings for the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in Hisar, India around 2000. The project consisted of the design of many new campus buildings, including the Administrative Block, offices, Health Centre, student and employee hostels, professors' houses and VIP houses, the Teaching Block, cafeteria, library, and University Works buildings. The University, previously known as Punjab Agricultural University, was established in 1995 by the Haryana state government and had a campus that sprawled over 372 acres. By 2007, around 200 acres had been developed with buildings and landscaping. Prakash had previously worked on projects for this campus, formerly known as the Punjab Agricultural University, in the 1960s. This project series contains the records for three buildings: the library, the Health Centre, and the Sports Hall. The library was notable for it's round shape, large entrance arch and domed skylight ceiling. The materials also emphasize the development of a large mural in the library depicting the astrological signs. The Health Centre was a diamond shaped building with an outdoor courtyard at its centre. The Sports Hall was a rectangular building with a trussed roof consisting primarily of an open, multipurpose space. This project is recorded through drawings, photographs of the finished buildings, and textual records dating from 2000-2007. The drawings are largely originals and include plans, sections, elevations, perspectives and details. The textual records consist of correspondence and a brochure on the campus construction program.

Description:
This project series documents an auditorium-cum-convocation hall in India, likely sometime in the 1980s or 1990s. The exact locations of this project is unknown. This hall looks strikingly similar in design to Prakash's Tagore Theatre (see project series AP206.S1.1960.PR01 in this fonds) and J&K Theatre (see project series AP206.S1.1969.PR01 in this fonds). All three buildings were comprised of two square-shaped volumes, turned on their axis to overlap at their corners, with the stage located directly at the overlap. However, unlike the others, this auditorium's exterior had a zig-zagging ramp that spanned the entire north elevation. It is not clear whether this project was ever realized. The project is recorded through floor plans, elevations and a section, probably dating from sometime in the 1980s-1990s.
