This project series documents the design and construction of the Health Sciences Complex at Memorial University (MUN) in St. John’s, Newfoundland from 1971-1976. The office identified the project number as 7111. The Health Sciences Complex was built to replace the St. John’s General Hospital. Constructed on MUN’s north campus, the hospital would integrate the university’s medical school to create a teaching hospital. The design included classrooms, labs, and a library for the students. The St. John’s General Hospital and MUN medical school would retain their independence and authority while sharing the space. The proposed design called for a banal building that was always unfinished so that future expansions and changes could be easily accommodated. The project also included the construction of the Utilities Annex building, a separate building to house heating and cooling plants, generators and electrical distribution. Having these facilities in a separate building would allow them to expand the hospital without crucial systems getting in the way. The main expansion envisioned in the scope of this project was the Life Sciences Complex, a university building and hospital connected to the Health Sciences Complex. In the project materials, the project is often referred to as The Health and Life Sciences Complex, although only the Health Sciences Complex was constructed under this project number. The original budget for the project was $60 million, a figure which included the Life Sciences Complex. The project is recorded through drawings, photographic materials, boards of material samples, a painting and textual records dating from 1971-1978. The textual records include correspondence with the client and consultants, meeting minutes and reports, consultancy records, a systems report, food facilities planning records, outline specifications, product catalogues for hospital equipment, research, project proposals, financial documentation and schedules. All of the drawings issued for tender are arranged within the textual materials. There are also two presentation boards, one of a project painting and the other of a photograph of the site model. Description:
This project series documents the design and construction of the Di Stefano residence located at 98 Tetherwood Boulevard in London, Ontario from 1987-1990. The office identified the project number as 8720. This project consisted of a V shaped house with a red brick masonry veneer and cedar shingles that was about 3300 square feet in size. From above, the two arms of the V appeared almost as separate structures, connected only at the front of the home by an entrance hall. However, the front facade of the home joined the two arms fluidly using a curved wall that matched the round street court in front of the home. One arm of the house was two storeys with a garage and kitchen on the ground floor and bedrooms on the second. This arm was shorter than the other but opened onto a patio in the backyard. The other arm contained the master bedroom and great hall on the ground floor and in place of a second storey, had a sloped roof with four chimneys. There was also a basement for storage, with future plans for a rec room and workshop. Several design schemes were investigated for this home, with variations on the floor plan layout, the shape of the house, the number of storeys, and the positioning of the garage and patio. The project is recorded through original drawings used for design and construction which date from 1987-1990. The large part of the drawings consist of sketches, plans, elevations, sections, details, isometrics and perspectives.

This project series documents the federal women's prison in Kitchener, Ontario, now called The Grand Valley Institution for Women, from 1992-1994. The office identified the project number as 9227. This project, built for Public Works Canada and Correctional Services Canada, consisted of a large, main prison building with nine small cottages lining the property. The main building included the admission and discharge area, food services, recreation spaces and spirituality centre, as well as an area for prisoners requiring enhanced security. The spirituality room was a window-rimmed rotunda that pierced the slanted roof of the main stucco building. The smaller cottages were wood-sided with aluminum windows and could house eight people. While many were built to house eight prisoners, some designs replaced prisoner's rooms with children's bedrooms for inmates who had children staying with them. There was also a large, green space in the centre of all the buildings, with plans to build a baseball diamond, daycare building and an additional cottage in the future. The project is recorded through drawings dating from1992-1995. The drawings and mostly originals and include site surveys, sketches, plans, elevations, sections, perspectives, details and axonometric drawings.

Many of Cedric Price's projects in the series are unexecuted. Significant unrealized projects from the 1960s and 1970s include Fun Palace (1961-1974), Potteries Thinkbelt (1963-1967), Oxford Corner House (1965-1966), and Generator (1976-1980). Significant built projects from the same period include the New Aviary (1960-1966), his first major realized project (with Lord Snowdon and Frank Newby), and Inter-Action Centre (1971-1979). Other realized projects include an office building (BTDB Computer, 1968-1973) and restaurant (Blackpool Project, 1971-1975).
