Publications and Exhibitions
AP032.S4
Description:
This series contains material on publications and exhibitions concerning Goldsmith work and career. Papers and photographs record the creation of the book Myron Goldsmith: Buildings and Concepts, edited by Swiss architect Werner Blaser and published by Rizzoli Publications in 1987. The updating of Goldsmith's theoretical views are apparent in the manuscript drafts and revisions of his two essays for the book - "The Effects of Scale," reworked from his I.I.T. master's thesis, and the newly composed "Structural Architecture." This series also contains documents concerning retrospective exhibitions on Goldsmith originating at Harvard University (1982), and at the Canadian Centre for Architecture (1991). This material includes papers, correspondence, exhibition panels and wall text panels. The inclusion of periodicals and clippings on the architect's work, and the work of his students, supply a good bibliographic background on the architect.

AP144.S2.D138
Description:
File documents a project for designs for 3 mobile market stalls developed for Westminster City Council, to be tested in Berwick Street and Tachbrook Street Markets, London, England. One design was for a fruit and vegetable trolley, one for a clothes stand, and one for a newspaper, magazine and knick-nacks kiosk. Prototypes of the stalls were built by the firm Slingsby for inclusion in their catalogue. The project also included proposals for the planning and layout of stalls in the markets. Eleven photographs of the prototypes and other stalls on Tachbrook street (DR2004:914) were mislabelled by Price's office with the Strate project (AP144.S2.D183). Material in this file was produced between 1982 and 1996, but predominantly between 1986 and 1990. File contains design development drawings, working drawings, presentation panels, models, an artefact, photographic materials, and textual records.

Projet
AP018.S1.1964.PR07
Description:
This project series documents the Donwood Foundations Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in North York, Ontario from 1964-1966. The office identified the project number as 6418. This project consisted of a four level building, with brick and steel fascia exteriors, that served as an alcohol and addiction treatment hospital. Surrounded by wooded landscapes and overlooking the Don River and ravine, the L-shaped building was 42,000 square feet in size. The building's interiors were designed to exude warmth, friendship and inclusion through the use of warm wood finishes and colourful carpeting and upholstery. The hospital included 49 patient beds, an auditorium, a lounge with balcony, and therapy rooms. The project is recorded through a presentation board of an exterior photograph and reprographic copies of drawings dating from 1966. The drawings consist of construction plans, elevations, sections, details, layouts, and structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
