Groundbreaking on Charney’s design was in November 1988, construction began in July of the following year, and the Tribute was unveiled on 30 September 1990 by the 14th Dalai Lama. Later additions include a plaque dedicated to John Peters Humphrey, and a series of plaques written in the aboriginal languages of Canada. Includes textual records, architectural drawings (elevations, sections, details), sketches, photographic materials, and artefacts.
