AP206.S1.1986.PR01
Description:
This project series documents the Maharaja Aggarsain Public School in Kurukshetra, India from 1986-1987. The project consisted of a U-shaped building that surrounded a large playground courtyard and included a dormitory block on the west, a classroom block on the east and an auditorium block that joined the other two. In some schemes, a swimming pool block completes the square at the open end. The elevations facing the interior playground were lined with verandas that had large, repeated archway openings. The other elevations followed this style through the use of arched windows and doors. Additional courtyards placed evenly throughout the east and west blocks created communal spaces within the school. The project is recorded through drawings, most of which are originals, consisting of plans, elevations, sections and details dating from 1986-1987.

Description:
Oud was commissioned to design the Tweede Vrijzinnig Christelijk Lyceum. Oud designed the school within the larger parameters of the Reconstruction Plan for Sportlaan; he presented his design to the board in 1950. Oud's design aligned with reconstruction plans, except that he designed a four- rather than a three-storey building. Oud's layout featured three blocks: one for classrooms and an auditorium, another for classrooms, and the last one for a gymnasium – this building connected to the main wing by circular stairs. Each of the three separate blocks was surrounded by a playground. The street side facades were closed in contrast to the open facades facing the playground. Oud's design also featured visual art and sculptures (Taverne et al. 2001, 533-535). Project series includes plans and photographs of facades and aerial views. , 12 drawings 11 photographs

Description:
Project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's landscape project for Acadia Park at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Oberlander worked on this project in 1969. The project consisted in design the landscape master plan and the play area for the Acadia Married Student Housing complex, which included in kindergarten. Oberlander preserved the forest edge of the site and even included some of the mature trees present on the site by suspending rope swings to their trunks. The play area also reused ancient trees as play structures, and a wobble walk made of logs ends of various heights. The project series contains design development drawings, including a proposed landscape master plan and landscape plans, and also working drawings, such as elevations and details of the playground structures and benches. The project is also documented through photographs of the playground and correspondence with clients. Source: [1] Herrington, Susan.
