Eleven miniature instruments in a pocket case

18th century

- This type of pocket case was popular between 1700 and 1850 (Hambly, 154). This case contains instruments that are either original to the set or specially-made replacements, since they all fit well in the case slots.

- Eleven miniature instruments, mostly of metal, with one of ivory, contained in a small, tapered pocket case with a hinged lid, made of silver and covered with black leather, which is cracking. One of the twelve slots is empty. The end of one leg of the scale rule is broken. A modern sticker, printed with the name and logo of André Chenue et Fils, covers the lid.
