Sound recordings of a colloquium conducted at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montréal, April 10, 1992, in which Peter Eisenman discusses site, his design process and strategies, drawing and representational methods, contemporary architectural theory and practice, criticism of the discipline of architecture, and his body of work, both unbuilt and realized, including House 11a; House EL even-odd; the submission for the International Design Seminar in Cannaregio, Venice (1978); the submission to the South Friedrichstadt housing competition of the Internationale Bauausstellung, Berlin (1980-1981); the project for the University Art Museum for California State University in Long Beach (1986); the Chora L Works; a garden for the Parc de La Villette in Paris (1985-1986); and, the Wexner Center for the Arts (1989). Organized in preparation for the exhibition "Cités de l'archéologie fictive : oeuvres de Peter Eisenman, 1978-1988 = Cities of artificial excavation : the work of Peter Eisenman, 1978-1988", on view at the CCA, Mar. 2-June 19, 1994 and the accompanying 1994 CCA catalogue publication "Cities of artificial excavation : the work of Peter Eisenman, 1978-1988".
