The authors combed the state to locate the best of historical theaters that won't give up the ghost (sometimes literally). Their research and interviews showcase these theaters and preserve an important part of the history of performing arts in Texas. Some of these theaters date as far back as 1886 and range across the state: Dalhart's LARITA, Terlingua's Starlight, El Paso's Plaza, Galveston's Grand Opera House, Texarkana's Perot, and forty-five points in between.
