The volume intends to reconstruct the theoretical debate on architectural typology and urban morphology started in Italy during the 50s of the last century and continued until today in an extended European and world wide discussion. The book consists of a rich anthology of texts, most of them difficult to be found, some of them unpublished in Italy, and translated in this occasion because of their particular interest in setting Italian theory in the widest frame of the international debate. The anthology is organized in a chronological order, in order to re-propose the same sequence of the study cases and to "photograph" this debate in its different phases
