"This first monograph from the architects' office of Olivier Galletti & Claude Matter, established in 1989, reads like an inventory of their work. At first sight, the buildings presented seem totally different from one another, although they are all based on the same continual aim to create structures that bring out the intrinsic qualities of each location. In 1989 Olivier Galletti and Claude Matter graduated in architecture and won their first competition." "Their first building was completed in 1992. It won the Canton of Vaud Architecture Award, the Andrea Palladio architectural prize and the Swiss Concrete Award. In 1994 they built the school complex in Fully; this was followed by a pavilion in Martigny. In 1998 the ice rink, exhibition space and cattle market in Bulle was completed. Since then, further competition wins have led to the realisation of a number of other public buildings. In 1998 attention was drawn to their work in a TV documentary called "La Romandie existe", followed by another in 2001 called "Architectour de Suisse". They have also been featured in journals such as werk bauen und wohnen, a+t, Archithese, Bauwelt and Faces."--BOOK JACKET.
