For over thirty years Materials and Methords of Architectural Construction has been regarded as the standard book for information concerning the commonly used materials and the customary methods of combining them in the construction of building. This third edition is completely revised to include a wealth of new items. Rewritten by approximately seventy per cent, this edition presents and explains modern design formulas and current working unit stresses. Many old figures are revised and numerous new ones added. New safe load tables have also been added to conform with present-day working stresses. Particular care has been devoted to the arrangement of the subject matter for text-book requirements. The demands for preparation for Civil Service and State-Board examinations have also been given consideration. (Inside cover).
