Résumé:

Based on the study of a specific work of architect Rogelio Salmona (b. Colombia 1929-2007), the present investigation moved away from the traditional view that has placed the building as the ultimate aim of the architecture and takes it as a link of the processes where the architect must face his ideas, whether prior, subsequent or contemporaneous to the materialization of the building. The study specifically addressed the perceptual framework proposed by Salmona in the building for the Postgraduate Studies of Human Sciences Faculty, at the National University of Colombia. Two fundamental aspects for this research converge in this building: on the one hand, it's one of the projects in which Salmona achieved a higher level of development in "modénature" (all of the ornamental elements that constitute the moldings, cornices and façade) and, on the other hand, is one building where "modénature" was used in wider proportion within his work.
