File documents Generator, an unexecuted project for the Gilman Paper Company, at the White Oak Plantation, in Yulee, Florida. After an initial investigation Cedric Price proposed a complex that could accommodate company activities, cultural events, and artist residencies and would provide "a menu of items for individual and group demands of space, control, containment and delight. A place to work, create, think, and stare." ('Architectural Review', Jan. 1980, 16). The design called for timber-framed structures with variable infill panels and cladding, along with screens, to be placed on a grid of concrete pads by cranes with the help of computers in response to users' needs. Conceptual, schematic and design development drawings show grid placement, site layout, landscaping, designs for cubes and components, proposed activities, axonometric views, and design notes with sketches. Development sketches, site plans, and charts include site analysis examining future growth, activity charts, shadow study plans, and axonometric details. Drawings of the structures include: plans, elevations, details, and perspective views for cubes, screens, and cladding; shadow studies for cube variations; and axonometric views of cube arrangements. In addition to documenting Dumais’s professional career (1935-1971), the fonds includes materials relating to the everyday administration of Dumais’s architectural firm (1941-1977) as well as materials pertaining to his personal life (1932-1982). Materials in this fonds consist of approximately 12 400 drawings (including reprographic copies), 126 photographic materials, 10.33 l.m. of textual records, 5 models, and 3 reels of 16 mm film.

Series consists of reference documentation in the form of portfolios of selected materials from various OCEAN North projects. It is likely that Kivi Sotamaa did not contribute to all of the included projects. For the most part, records are images of work done with CAD software: preliminary drawings; fully developed plans and renderings of buildings; landscapes; and installations. Images also include digitized photographs of models and installations. Content from AP198.S2.001 – OCEAN North Portfolio 1999 consists primarily of this type of visual material and is organized per project. Additionally, a few textual records describe some of the projects. There are two versions of a general presentation document in Pagemaker. Content from AP198.S2.002 – OCEAN North Press CD 2000 is organized into three sections: “about'OCEANnorth”, “OCEANnorth_Essays”, and “OCEANnorth_Projects”. This last directory is further organized by year and by project, each project having a text and an image sub-directory. Overall, there are 48 textual records describing the network, its vision and its projects, alongside more than 200 raster images. The Jyväskylä Music and Arts Centre competition entry was not included in this project selection.
