Description:
The project series documents the competition entry and curriculum, won by Abalos & Herreros, and the development of a masterplan for the urban development and integration of the railroad in Logroño, Spain. The project included a train and bus station, residential towers and green areas for pedestrians. The firm identified this project as number 188. After the dissolution of the firm, Iñaki Abalos and Renata Sentkiewicz took over the project. Abalos & Herreros were invited to participate in the competition organised by Consejería de Educación y Cultura (Council for Education and Culture), of the Comunidad de Autónoma de Madrid, and their entry won. The firm worked in collaboration with architect Ángel S. Jaramillo and artist Peter Halley. The firm identified this project as number 94. In 2003, this project was a finalist at the 7th edition of the Bienal de Arquitectua Española and received a mention at the 17th edition of the Premios de Urbanismo, Arquitectura y Obra Publica 2003 from the Madrid City Council. Documenting the project are design development and working drawings, correspondence, notes, project descriptions, studies, specifications, photographic materials and a model.

Abalos & Herreros identified this project as number 148. Abalos & Herreros proposed: « [a] query for the urbanity development of the new west city growing of San Sebastián, [consisting] of infrastructure, social housing and a big park. The assorted and violent topography, the ecological wealth of the support and the presence of the town access infrastructures make this enclave an unique opportunity for trying out completely new analysis and project methods, occupations and densities, including the appearance of nature in the urban life.” (ARCH270975) Abalos & Herreros worked with José Manuel Abalos, Jaime Abalos, Zomad Arquitectos, Arup Group Documenting the project are presentation drawings, project descriptions, publications, presentation documents, cartographic, photographic and reference materials, correspondence, resumes and specifications.
