Projet
AP207.S1.2012.PR01
Description:
The project series documents the digitally created installation "Mother Nature" by Pettena in 2011. The project consists of a photograph of a rock formation on the edge of the water which was digitally modified to include a human figure nested in. "What is presented here in an almost didactic manner, by inserting a human figure into a setting prepared by nature, is the natural imbalance between the former and the infinite potentialities of the environment, which can only be known in part by someone who, accepting this situation of inferiority, makes use of it to acquire the capacity for a more conscious observation." [1] The project series contains drawings and photographs of the installation. Architecture + Nature (2011)
AP207.S1.2011.PR02
Description:
The project series documents the filmed performance "Architecture + Nature" produced by Pettena in 2011. The performance consists of the word "architecture" written in the sand slowly being erased by the movement of the waves. "The sea breaks slowly on the sandy beach... On it architecture stays. And the sea and its waves break with slow, constant, inexorable movements, like a bewitching, continual, eternal melody... And gradually architecture is dematerialized [...]." [1] The project series contains a video of the performance, a drawing, and six film stills.
