File consists of one of the remaining photographs which Gordan Matta-Clark transformed by heating (despite the title, the photographs were not "fried") as part of a 1969 exhibition at the John Gibson Gallery in New York City, New York. The photograph is housed in the box in which it was sent to Richard Landry in 1971 as a Christmas greeting.
