During this 1911 voyage, Le Corbusier visited Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Istanbul, Mont Athos, Athenes, Pompéi and Pisa. These texts, written during his voyage, were first published as a series of articles in “Feuille d’Avis de la Chaux-de-Fonds,” the daily newspaper in Chaux-de- Fonds, Switzerland. Articles were later published posthumously in the book “Voyage d’Orient” (1966).

10 reprographic copies of pages from the album “Nivola sur le Capitol” showing sketches and notes concerning Chandigarh, India. The Open Hand Monument is represented in one of the sketches. Labels were copied beside the album's pages. 8 copies are labelled “Nivola 1” and another is labelled “Nivola 2.” The label reproduced in another copy has been cut off, though it appears to read “Nivola 1.”
