Feats of Installation

The video of the installation of the Moriyama House site model is now complete, featuring more acrobatics from the exhibition team and the meticulous arrangement of the model house itself.

The site model was created to depict the context and radical nature of Ryue Nishizawa’s project. The Moriyama House is situated in a residential area of downtown Tokyo composed of two and three-storey buildings which stand in orderly rows. In contrast, the Moriyama House breaks the volume and scale of a typical site into 10 separate buildings of varying dimensions.

The model is on a scale of 1:50 and was built in Montréal according to plans by the Office of Ryue Nishizawa. More than four by three metres in size, it includes 342 miniature buildings in addition to the distinct volumes of the Moriyama House model.
